Not a bad shot, there is a tad bit of noise I can see in the shot. I don't know if this was an experiment at night or something along those lines but the composition of the picture isn't very good i.e. the big pole in the middle of the picture isn't exactly "eye appealing". Just my .02.

Thanks - you could call it an experiment, as I just got the camera and I haven't ever used one before. I too wish the pole wasn't there.

As far as the noise goes, it isn't too bad in my opinion. I could have reduced it more, but I just did a quick shot.

Gotcha, heh I got my camera a few months back and I'm still finding out new things about it, it pays to read the manual, trust me. As for the noise goes, I was referring to the pole and the white on the houses you can see it very visibly. Keep experimenting, changing things such as the exposure and iso will help with your noise problem (:

Oh yeah I know all that - I don't have a tripod so I ran outside and tried a long exposure by setting it on something. Definitely could've made it better.

Thanks for the comments

Oh, and by the way - about the composition and the pole - I just walked into my yard, set the camera on my fence, and took a shot. I would've gotten a better angle, but it was literally just an exposure test.

Do you have a portfolio or something I can see? I'd love to see some more photos from you. I'll be taking some actual shots tomorrow, so I hope they turn out well.

I have my Deviantart account but I'm not the most active over there. I used to be into digital art for like 3 years then college came and I took a break and now I came back with photography.

GET A TRIPOD! That is the best advice I can give you, the qaulity of your shots from using a tripod rises tremendously! I know you don't have one but get one! It helped me so much as a novice photographer.

Here's my da link: http://www.l1b3rat3.deviantart.com Not all my photos are on there just some I have a little fun with (:

If you couldn't tell by my da account, I love macro shots (:

You read my mind - I'm buying one sometime this week, but I won't spend over $100. I just need something to help with the longer exposure shots.

By the way, I remember your old work I think. I'll watch your dA account - I used to do some digital art too.

Heh those were the good ole' days. I still have a little abstract in me, been throwing some stuff around; nothing serious though. I got my tripod from my grandparents, they never used it anymore so they just passed it onto me (:
